The Open Source in Energy Access Symposium (OSEAS) is back for its second edition, and promises to be even more impactful! Scheduled to take place from June 11 to 13, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya, this event is focused on examining the intersection of Open Source technology and energy access. Co-hosted with the World Resources Institute, OSEAS aims to foster a thriving and inclusive ecosystem that advances sustainable universal energy access through active collaboration, inclusiveness and Open Source solutions.
This symposium stands out as the only event specifically focused on how Open Source and collaboration can transform energy access initiatives. As the world faces the pressing challenges of climate change and energy inequality, the role of Open Source tools has never been more important. These tools not only enhance interoperability and cost efficiency but also ensure high-quality, peer-reviewed outcomes for energy access projects worldwide and ease local manufacturing.
Participants can look forward to a rich program featuring thought-provoking discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities with key stakeholders in the energy sector.
